AKC Canine Good Citizen
Is Your Dog a Good Citizen?
The AKC’s CGC program is designed to help you and your dog be the best you can be when out and about in the world. Each of the tests are comprised of ten skills designed to instill confidence and good manners.
Busy Dog is proud to offer group classes designed to help you and your dog prepare for their CGC tests, so when the time comes you’re prepared and ready for success!
Completion of the tests make your team eligible to receive your CGC, CGCU or CGCA titles from the AKC (and you’ll receive a ribbon from us)!
Please note that in order to receive your CGC title, your dog must be registered through the AKC. If your dog is not registered, you can get them registered through the PAL (Purebred Alternative Listing) or Canine Partners (for mixed breeds).
To learn more about the skills tested, or to register your dog with the AKC, visit their website here: https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/canine-good-citizen/take-the-test/
* Passing the Canine Good Citizen test does not make a dog a service dog or emotional support dog. A key distinction of service or emotional support dogs is that the owner/handler has a disability. It is unethical to misrepresent a pet dog as a service or emotional support animal.
